Russian energy ministry hopes to avoid transit wars with Ukraine
MOSCOW, Mar 18 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Energy Ministry hopes to avoid natural gas transit wars with Ukraine, which is the main transit country for Russian gas supplies to Europe, Energy Minister Alexander Novak said Tuesday.
“We base on the fact that it must not happen, and the situation will develop in a regular way,” Novak said.
Earlier on Tuesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a treaty to make Crimea, which decided to separate from Ukraine at a March 16 referendum, a Russian region.
